About the release

The 10.2.0 release is the twelfth monthly update for Datto RMM in 2021. Please see below for the highlights, along with the full list of fixes and improvements.

New technician actions

We are excited to make available two powerful new actions to aid in various technician workflows:

  • Patch Now. Available from the Device Summary page and device lists, this action will immediately initiate patching on the selected device according to configured Patch Management policies. Refer to Patch Now (Device Summary page) and Patch Now (device lists).
  • Schedule Reboot. You can now schedule a reboot for Windows, macOS, and Linux devices from the Device Summary page and device lists. This can be used to reboot a device immediately or in the future at a specified date and time. Refer to Schedule Reboot (Device Summary page) and Schedule Reboot (device lists).

Unified Activity Log

We are excited to make the new Unified Activity Log available. Refer to Activity Log.

This powerful new logging page in the New UI provides the following benefits:

  • Device and user activity, all in one place. For the first time, you can access device and user activity on a single page. This page provides a single view of all activity within your Datto RMM account, while respecting permissions around access to different activity types.
  • Access device data at the device, site, or global level. For the first time, you can view device activity across all your devices or for specified sites and devices all in one place.
  • Get the data you need with filters and search. New filtering capabilities allow you to view data globally or for specific devices, users, and sites. You can also use the search field to return a list of matching activities.
  • Advanced search capabilities. Leverage powerful search capabilities based on Apache Lucene Query Parser syntax to carry out advanced querying of your Activity Log.

Known issues with Unified Activity Log

Known issue What we will do
Certain log data that is reported by the Agent to the platform (User Tasks, Software Management activity, monitor responses, and job results) will not be as easily readable as in the legacy UI. We will improve readability of these log records and run batch actions in the coming month to improve the accuracy of historical logs.
As a result of the Amazon Web Services outage in US-EAST-1, some device log data is missing on the Concord platform from the period between November 5th and December 9th, 2021. We will backfill this data in the coming month.

Updates to jobs in the New UI

We have made a number of enhancements to the jobs functionality in the new UI, including:

  • Rerun jobs from the Job Results page. When viewing the results of a job, you can now select one or more devices and rerun the job. Refer to Devices.
  • Create jobs from the Job Results page. You can now create a quick job or schedule a job from the Job Results page. Refer to Devices.
  • Updates to the Jobs page. We have added the Last run column and also changed the default sort to display the newest jobs at the top of the table instead of the bottom. Refer to The jobs table.

Other updates

  • Filter for Windows Server 2022. You can now access a Default Device Filter for devices running the Windows Server 2022 operating system. Refer to Default Device Filter definitions.
  • Sync device quantities to ConnectWise PSA Agreements. You can now sync device quantities to Agreements using the ConnectWise PSA Integration, automating key workflows to correctly bill for device quantities. Refer to Agreement Mapping.
  • Request Agent logs from the Device Summary page. You can now extract and export Agent logs directly from the Device Summary page in the New UI. Refer to Download Agent Logs.

Additions to the ComStore

We release new ComStore components and update existing ones every month. Notable additions this month include the following components:

  • Software monitoring for Windows
  • Software monitoring for macOS
