VIDEO Datto RMM 10.9.0 Release Overview
Join Community Program Manager Melissa Hockenberry and Senior Product Manager Frederick Bendžius-Drennan as they provide a quick overview of the Datto RMM 10.9.0 release featuring global search improvements, updates to end-user notifications on macOS devices, and an update to universal antivirus support.
Global search enhancements
Being able to search quickly for information is truly mission-critical. Improving search in the New UI has in fact been the top feature request over the past few months. That’s why in this release, we’re thrilled to announce a number of major enhancements to the global search feature in the New UI. Refer to Global search.
The enhancements include the following:
- Search additional fields. We added the ability to search the most requested information such as IP addresses, serial numbers, and user-defined fields.
- View results as a list. From quick results, you can now choose to view all results in a full page to add more columns and filtering or to perform actions.
- Persisted field selection. Your most recent field selection will be remembered between sessions, making it easier for you to pick up where you left off.
- Keyboard navigation. You can change the search field focus and navigate quick results using only the arrow and enter keys.
End-user notification improvements for macOS
We have made improvements on macOS Agent notifications, providing a more seamless end-user experience when conducting remote takeover or Web Remote chat sessions. Refer to Initiate a Web Remote chat.
The improvements include the following:
- End users on macOS endpoints will now receive prompts for Web Remote chat sessions to have better awareness about incoming chat requests.
- Both the chat session prompt and privacy prompts now respect Agent branding on macOS.
Universal antivirus support for CrowdStrike Falcon
Our Universal Antivirus Detection engine now supports CrowdStrike Falcon sensors on Microsoft Windows operating systems. While the Security Center API provided coverage in the past for Windows desktops, this universal support now means that partners running CrowdStrike on Windows servers no longer need to maintain override files. Refer to Antivirus products.
New URL schema for the New UI
As part of the 11.0.0 release, scheduled for the middle of August, 2022, the default URL for the New UI will be updated from https://[platform]rmm.centrastage.net to https://[platform].rmm.datto.com.
For example, if your platform is Concord, your default URL for the New UI will change from https://concordrmm.centrastage.net to https://concord.rmm.datto.com.
Please note the following:
- The existing URL will continue to redirect to the new one, and we have no plans today to stop this redirect.
- This change impacts the New UI only. There are no changes to the URLs that your Agents are accessing or to your API calls.
- If your environment requires domain allowlisting to access the New UI, we recommend adding the new schema prior to the change being implemented as part of the 11.0.0 release.
Additions to the ComStore
We release new ComStore components and update existing ones every month. Notable additions this month include the following components:
- Agent Health Check Tool. Both the component-style Direct-Check and the standalone script have been updated with new checks to ensure devices are running the Datto RMM Agent properly.
NOTE To access a full list of ComStore components, refer to List of ComStore components.
