Restarting a device

If you experience any performance issues with the Datto RMM Agent, you may want to restart it as a first troubleshooting step.

NOTE  When the Datto RMM Agent restarts, all of its associated services and processes will also restart.

Windows

Users of Windows-based operating systems have two options to restart the Datto RMM Agent.

System tray method

1. In the Windows system tray, right-click the Datto RMM icon.
2. Click Restart to restart the Agent.

Microsoft Management Console Method

1. Launch the Microsoft Management Console by following one of the following paths:
   • Navigate to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
   • Open the Run command window, enter services.msc, and click OK.
2. Right-click the service called Datto RMM and click Restart.

macOS

1. Click the Datto RMM Agent in the menu bar.
2. Click Restart Agent.

Linux

The Linux version of the Datto RMM Agent has no user interface. To restart the service, run any one of the following commands from a shell session:

• sudo service cag restart
• sudo systemctl restart cag
• sudo sh /opt/CentraStage/restart_cag
