NOTE  There is a slight adjustment to the 2025 release schedule to distribute platform updates more evenly across a two-week deployment window. This change allows more time to address any issues identified during the deployment, ensuring a higher-quality customer experience overall.

IMPORTANT  This is a full platform and Agent release; therefore, partners should expect brief disconnections of the Agent during the update window.

Legacy UI deprecation notice:

The legacy UI will be formally retired in November 2025. From that point forward, the New UI will be the sole interface for accessing Datto RMM. For detailed information, see the FAQ: Legacy UI deprecation and New UI transition, and let us know your thoughts in the Community.

About the release

The 14.6.0 release is the eighth of our 2025 releases. Please see below for the highlights, along with the full list of fixes and improvements. As always, we look forward to your feedback as we continue to improve the product every single month.

Software Management: Optimized page performance

The Software Management page has been optimized to improve load times. These changes are most noticeable for you if you manage a large amount of devices, as the page now responds much faster. The result is a smoother and more reliable experience when managing software across many devices.

Advanced Software Management: Improved data accuracy via a distinct client process

The Advanced Software Management client now runs as a separate process named SMClient, operating independently from the agent. This separation reduces errors caused by tightly coupled dependencies, makes the system easier to maintain, and ensures it is better prepared for future updates, providing smooth and uninterrupted operation.

Datto EDR integration: Improved status reporting

You’ll now see more accurate EDR status reporting for your devices. Devices without a confirmed EDR status will display a blank value instead of Needs Attention, reducing confusion and preventing inflated alert counts. EDR status will only appear when it’s retrieved directly from the agent, ensuring your dashboards and device lists reflect the true state of your environment.

Advanced Software Management: September updates

There are no notable updates for this release.

Refer to Advanced Software Management and Advanced Software Management application catalog.
