User Tasks not working correctly

If User Tasks are not working correctly on your machine, perform the following troubleshooting steps:

Verify the component is set as a User Task

In the Datto RMM GUI, make sure that the component is actually set to be a User Task.

Audit the device

You must audit the device after setting the component as a User Task in order for it to correctly display on an endpoint.

Verify if the Datto RMM Agent is up to date

Outdated Agents can cause problems when communicating to an updated platform. Additionally, Datto RMM Support cannot test for bugs outside of the latest version.

Gather information for further troubleshooting with Datto RMM Support

If the issue persists, gather as much of the following information as possible to share with Datto RMM Support in Kaseya Helpdesk:

  • Component name
  • Export of component (if custom)
  • .NET version
  • Hostnames and UIDs of affected devices
  • Any error messages (copied and pasted)
  • Datto RMM Agent Process and Datto RMM Agent Service log files (Agent log files)
  • Does the behavior occur on numerous devices?
