About the release

The 12.6.0 release is the twelfth of our twelve monthly releases planned for 2023. Please see below for the highlights, along with the full list of fixes and improvements. As always, we look forward to your feedback as we continue to improve the product every single month.

Web Remote: Autotask companion checklist and file attachment

The Autotask companion now includes the ability to view and use the Autotask ticket checklist directly from Web Remote. Refer to Manage Autotask tickets from Web Remote.

  • Mark checklist items as done or not done.
  • Click through embedded hyperlinks.
  • Knowledge Base article links are signified with a book icon.

The Add Attachment option now supports attaching a file from the remote machine, enabling technicians to quickly record log files, configuration files, or other file types directly to the active ticket. Refer to Manage Autotask tickets from Web Remote.

Microsoft 365 user search

Datto RMM users can now search for Microsoft 365 users and email addresses in managed Microsoft 365 tenants. This allows technicians to search for users, force a password reset, or find their managed devices more quickly. Refer to Microsoft 365 Integration and Global search.

Integration to Compliance Manager GRC

Compliance Manager GRC is a Kaseya module which keeps track of all IT requirements, highlights issues that need attention, and makes it easy to generate the reports and evidence of compliance whenever it is needed. To reduce the manual effort required to prepare for compliance audits, Datto RMM (along with several other Kaseya modules) is working to automate the data collection process.

To use this integration, your instance of Datto RMM must be connected to KaseyaOne. Refer to KaseyaOne Integration.

In this release, Datto RMM provides automated evidence that devices are audited on a regular basis, with the following device fields provided to Compliance Manager GRC on a per-site basis:

  • Hostname
  • MAC address
  • Last logged in user
  • Datto RMM Agent version
  • Last Datto RMM audit

Custom Device Filter criteria additions

Four new filter criteria improvements have been added to allow specific grouping of devices, including the following:

  • Datto EDR Status
  • Datto EDR Install Date
  • Managed Antivirus Status

Additionally, the Device Type criterion can now be used to select Datto Networking device types (Datto Access Point, Datto Switch, Datto Managed Power).

Refer to Filter criteria definitions.

Updated "Show New UI by Default" setting for all users

Our metrics show that most users prefer the New UI for their default login experience by a ratio of almost 3:1. As all email links now redirect users to the New UI, we've decided to again encourage remaining users to give it a try.

The process will transpire as follows:

  • On Wednesday, November 1, users who still had the legacy UI set as their default login experience were invited via a message to try the New UI.
  • The message also informed that on November 29, the New UI will be automatically set as the default login experience for all users, with a link provided to learn more.
  • It was made clear that the legacy UI will remain accessible until the New UI transition is complete in 2024.
  • This message was scheduled to repeat weekly until the login preference is changed for all users.
